It is a semi-urban beach with medium and small gravel, 110 metres long and 15 metres wide. It is next to the port of Villajoyosa heading north. It has a medium - low occupation in high season, so we can quietly enjoy a day at sea. We have a foot wash service and the beach bar Nou Varadero that opens day and night in high season.
There is a promenade where we can take a short walk, observe the landscape and access two other adjoining coves that are very close. Cala de los Estudiantes and Cala del Tío Roig. We can also sit on one of its many benches to contemplate the landscape. From the northernmost part, we can see the well-known Torres Beach, which can be reached by walking for about ten minutes, going up some steps in the promenade.
We find ourselves in a very beautiful environment with the characteristic that to our right, there is a mound that protrudes from the rest and that in its entrance to the sea is modelling rock formations with great changes of unevenness and intricate spaces. For snorkelers you will be able to enjoy beautiful underwater views in this part and in the jetty towards the port. There are also zones with sandy bottom and punctual prairies of oceanic posidonia.
It is also a good place for kayaking and paddle surfing routes as we have easy access to the sea through this cove. I recommend going north, towards Torres Beach and a bit more, depending on your condition. You will hallucinate with the landscape of the whole area of the coast, sinuous and mountainous. A very interesting destination would be the nudist cove Racó de Conill.
We have a car park of about 20 - 30 cars right next to the cove. And we can also come with the urban bus line 21 stopping in Almadraba street or walking from the Central Beach about 15-20 minutes.
