The cove of Uncle Ximo, is a cove of stones about ten meters wide and another twenty meters long and with rocky formations on both sides. It is very close to Benidorm, where the Llevant beach ends, behind Punta del Pinet, at the foot of the southern part of the Sierra Gelada natural park. Looking at the sea, we can enjoy the views of the island of Benidorm in the distance.
It does not seem that we are in this municipality, for the change of landscape so abrupt, in full nature, between mountains, rocks and sea. Undoubtedly it is a place where to take fresh air and to escape of the cement and the bustle of the city and the beaches in high season, although here neither we are going to be alone in these months.
It is a good place from where to snorkel, being able to go towards both sides, for one until the cove of the Almadraba, happening through a cave and towards the other part also very rocky. It's a good place to dive because you get enough depth at a short distance and has the incentive to be in the nature reserve protected so we will find more marine life. It is also a good starting point for a kayak or paddle surf trip to the cliffs of the Sierra Gelada and reach the lighthouse of Albir.
Another activity that we can do is walk to the Tower of Punta del Cavall, both on an asphalted road and a path along the coast, from where we enjoy the views of the Tower and the great cliff that forms the Sierra Gelada in front of the Mediterranean Sea.
Up to here there is an asphalted road but we do not have much parking, although along the way we can leave in some places the car and also in the elevated part. Between Almadraba cove and Tio Ximo cove.
