Amadores beach is an artificially created beach. Two large rock dykes protect it from the waves and prevent the golden sand from being washed away by storms. This, when mixed with the crystalline waters, gives the sea a turquoise blue colour, making it look as if we were in the Caribbean. It is located in the municipality of Mogán and is 500 metres long and 50 metres wide on average, widening and narrowing with the tide.

It is a family beach where smoking, music and ball games are forbidden, so that everyone can enjoy this space. The protection from the waves and the sand is not very uneven, so that children can play safely on the shore and turn this beach into a natural swimming pool in every sense of the word. Everyone, children and adults, can swim and snorkel peacefully without worrying about the currents.

This beach has a wide promenade behind the restaurants and another one kilometre long promenade that connects this beach with the town centre of Puerto Rico, where you will find the Puerto Rico beach, ideal for walking, jogging or watching the sunset. On days with good visibility you can see the island of Tenerife, with the steep Mount Teide at the top. On the west side of the beach there is a mini-golf course and the Amadores Beach Club where you can go for a drink and party in the nightlife of Gran Canaria.

There are several parking areas in the closest part of the beach on both sides, at least the one on the east side is free and then before the entrance roundabout there is another large one but a bit far from the beach. You can reach this beach by bus with lines 1, 70 and 90.
