Mogán beach is located in the south-western part of Gran Canaria, at the end of a ravine that is very characteristic of this part of the island. This beach was artificially created with a dike that protects it from the waves which, together with the dike of the port, turns it into a natural swimming pool with calm waters and golden sand. It is about 200 metres long and 20 metres wide, and the western area where the sun loungers are located is twice this size.

The beach has a very moderate slope so that children can play very comfortably on the sand and the low waves make it a perfect family beach. The older ones also appreciate these conditions to cool off and swim in peace and quiet. Bordering the beach there is a promenade full of shops and all kinds of restaurants where you can enjoy a varied gastronomy. It is very popular with tourists who want to quench their thirst and appetite.

This beach has been awarded the blue flag for the quality of its waters and for having all kinds of services such as footbaths, toilets, beach umbrellas, sun loungers, lifeguards, first aid and it is adapted for people with reduced mobility. There is a sports area next to the canal where you can hire all kinds of activities such as kayaking, paddle surfing, scooters for the whole family or diving trips.

In the eastern part of the beach there is a cove with bowls in front of the cliffs which is not very crowded and on days with little swell it is ideal for snorkelling and observing the fauna that can be found among the rocks. Also from the beach it is an ideal spot for paddle surfing in the calm waters or to start a kayak route to observe the beautiful landscape of cliffs. We can reach the nearby beach of Taurito, observing several caves along the way.

The area near the port is highly recommended for a visit, with its pretty streets and colourful houses adorned with vegetation, there are several restaurants. On Fridays from nine o'clock to two o'clock in the afternoon you can stroll through the Mogán street market where you can see the typical products of the area. The Golden Shark submarine leaves from the harbour and goes down to the underwater park "La Antarctica", a unique experience to see the sunken ships and get to know in depth all the beauties of the area. We have several free parking areas on the upper part of the beach, between the streets behind the promenade and a paying car park at the entrance to the port. With the bus line 91 we can get directly from Las Palmas to Puerto de Mogán, and also by hiring a transfer service with a vehicle or minibus for groups.
