This urban cove, barely 120 metres long and with an average width of 20 metres, has fine golden sand and is situated between the well-known Levante beach and Poniente beach. We will be calmer than in these two more crowded beaches although there are also enough people in high season.
We are in the historic centre of Benidorm, just below the square where the church of San Jaime is located and where there used to be a castle. Many people come to the viewpoint of the Castle for its views and go down some steps to what is known as the balcony of the Mediterranean, one of the most visited and photographed points of the tourist capital of the Costa Blanca.
The drop from the viewpoint also known as Punta Canfali, to the cove, forms a cliff and makes it more protected from the waves and wind. At the other end is the sports port. From here, you can go by boat to Benidorm Island or also to Tabarca Island. These two destinations are highly valued by divers and snorkelers as they are protected marine reserves.
It is a good place to go with family and small children as the slope when entering the sea is gentle and they can play near the shore.
It is a special place to snorkel as we have the rocky part of the tip where we can swim to the Levante beach or also get a little into the sea to an artificial geyser, very striking from the water. We will find a submerged metal structure that stands on a rock mound with abundant posidonia and a lot of marine life.
There are pay parking near and blue zone in the surroundings to be able to park our car.
