▷ Beaches of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria 🌊

Las Canteras Beach is considered the best urban beach in Europe, as attested by the many international awards it has received. Along its more than three kilometres of fine sand, in some areas volcanic black and in others golden, we can enjoy this gift of nature in the heart of the city of Las Palmas.

This beach, despite being very close to the city, transports us to an incredible space where we can connect with nature and history, as from here we can see the caves inhabited by the first settlers of the islands. It is located on La Isleta, a peninsula at the northern end of the city, from where you can see the entire bay and beach of Las Canteras.

Alcavaneras beach is located in the heart of the city of Las Palmas, within the docks of Puerto de La Luz, which means that its waters are always very calm. It has fine golden sand and measures 400 metres long by 60 metres wide, making it a very wide beach with outstanding sports facilities. It is not usually a very busy beach as tourists and city dwellers prefer the nearby Playa de las Canteras.

San Cristóbal beach is located in a historic fishermen's quarter of the city of Las Palmas. It is an unfrequented pebble beach. It is very long and has several access points along the 600-metre promenade. Its composition changes between stretches of pebbles, black sand and rocky areas that appear at low tide.

La Laja beach is located at the entrance of the city of Las Palmas. In spite of being next to the road, the mountainous surroundings and the large sandy area make you feel you are in a remote natural place. The sand is dark and fine and you can take long and pleasant walks. In the northern part are the natural pools of La Laja.

La playa de La Cícer, es una zona dentro de la Playa de Las Canteras. Es la mejor zona de Las Palmas para practicar surf y la única zona de toda la playa donde está permitido practicar deportes. Es de arena negra volcánica y siempre tiene buen oleaje. Si te gusta el surf o el bodysurf, esta es tu playa en la ciudad.
